Highlights & Lowlights 

Highlights are a hair colouring technique where sections of hair are lightened to add dimension, contrast and brightness. Typically done using foils, highlights can range from subtle and natural to bold and dramatic, depending on the desired look. They're great for enhancing texture, creating depth and giving the hair a sunlit effect. 

Lowlights by contrast, involve adding darker tones to sections of hair. These shades are usually close to the natural colour and are used to create depth and richness. Lowlights can soften overly bright highlights, make hair look fuller, and add more natural or blended finish.
